I am back at Roaring Camp for the weekend and this time I'm joined by my parents from Switzerland :-)
Our personal "Camp Guide" Mike shows us the new display, which was created for visitors and various TV reports covering this unique place. After our stroll through camp and reuniting with many of my mining friends, my parents get a chance to try their luck at "gold mining". We celebrate a sweet success by panning out two small pieces and I can tell, that my Dad is as enthusiastic about digging in the dirt as I
am :-)
After all the hard work, we join the Roaring Camp team, camp visitors and two trucks full of day-trippers at the famous Saturday night BBQ.
It was a fun and unforgettable day and I can't wait to be back in June 2009 for another one-week individual pile adventure.

The famous Roaring Camp BBQ is always great fun: Delicious food, wonderful friends and lots of story-telling.
I was especially thrilled to finally meet Sandra Manning, the author of "Ragtag Rhymes of Roaring Camp".
But nobody trumps the colorful stories and jokes told by our "Man in Black", Marshall / funny man Neil.
